CEDS: Green Valley Economic Development Strategy

The Green Valley Initiative has helped open the door to federal funding for clean- and green-technology projects taking root in the Inland Empire. A Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) report commissioned by GVI has qualified the region for Department of Commerce funding related to the initiative. For more information, contact Executive Director Craig Keys at ckeys@giveforthefuture.org.

    Green Logistics Strategy

The Green Valley Initiative is linking clean- and green-tech companies with trade and logistics industries to promote collaborative projects within the region. These projects will target the processes between point-of-production and end-user, including packaging, transportation, warehousing and inventory. Reverse logistics, involving the collection, recycling and disposing of materials, will also be addressed.

     Regional Energy Efficiency Program (REEP)

REEP is an energy efficiency, financing and job-creation program coordinated through Green Valley Initiative with the support of area governments. Its purpose is to create jobs and help establish the Inland Empire as a regional demonstration project, promoting solar energy and resource efficiency, targeting the region’s 411 million square feet of commercial and industrial space, as well as vast residential and undeveloped land areas.
