  1. Privacy Policy - Commitment to Your Privacy. 
 

This site (www.greenvalleynow.org) is owned and operated by GREEN INSTITUTE FOR VILLAGE EMPOWERMENT (“GIVE”).  Your privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us.  We want to make your experience online satisfying and safe.     

Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand our policy and the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information.  This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.   

  1. Information GIVE Gathers and Tracks.
 

GIVE gathers two types of information about users: 

    1. Information that users provide through optional, voluntary submissions via online registration.  These are voluntary submissions to receive our electronic newsletters, to participate in our message boards, forums, symposiums, to e-mail a friend, and from participation in polls and surveys.
 
    1. Information GIVE gathers through aggregated tracking information derived mainly by tallying page view throughout our sites.  This information allows us to better tailor our content to readers' needs and to help us better understand the demographics of our audience. 
 

An individual and/or entity's contact and background information may be changed and/or revised by reregistering and providing updated contact and relevant background information through GIVE's web site. 

  1. Purposes for Gathering Information.
 

GIVE processes the above-referenced information for the following purposes:  

    1. Providing our services to users;
    2. Auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our services;
    3. Ensuring the technical functioning of our network;
    4. Information sharing (see below); and
    5. Developing new services.

GIVE only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of GIVE in the following limited circumstances:  

    1. We have your consent;  
    2. We provide such information to GIVE's affiliated companies or companies under common ownership or control of GIVE's principals or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information for marketing purposes; and 
    3. We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (i) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable government request, (ii) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (iii) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of GIVE, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.
