Symposium:
Investing in California’s Green Valley Economy

Who:
California State Treasurer Bill Lockyer, will discuss the local and statewide economic impacts of financing California’s new infrastructure.

What:
The two-hour symposium, hosted by the Green Institute for Village Empowerment (GIVE), is free and open to the public.

Why:
To learn more about the environmental issues facing the region, and why it’s critical to build sustainable communities for the future.

About Bill Lockyer:
Mr. Lockyer was elected in November 2006 as California’s 32nd State Treasurer and continues a career in public speaking that spans more than three decades. As State Attorney General from 1999-2006, Mr. Lockyer led DNA crime-fighting advancements, successfully fought to protect consumers, the environment and civil rights and recovered more than $6.5 billion for defrauded energy ratepayers and taxpayers. During his 25-year career in the Legislature, culminating in a stint as leader of the State Senate, he crafted agreements to balance the state budget and reform government programs to make them run more efficiently and effectively for taxpayers. As Treasurer, he is committed to addressing transportation, health-care, affordable housing and environmental issues to create a stronger California.
