GREEN BUILDING SYMPOSIUM: STRIVING FOR ZERO NET ENERGY
Commercial and residential buildings consume about one-third of the world's energy. In the United States alone, buildings account for over 40% of total energy consumption, including 27% of electricity generation, 12% of water consumption and 60% of all non-industrial waste. At this rate, by 2025 buildings worldwide will be the largest consumer of global energy - greater than the transportation and industry sectors combined. Herein lies one of the best opportunities in the clean tech space to reduce energy consumption.  Our panel will explore the regulatory, technical, investing, and government efforts, discussing the challenges and opportunities involved in striving for zero net energy high performance buildings.
